Fast Last Night

Karl Richey/S.T.
(Studio10/R2476/LP/US)

Karl Richey/S.T.[1969]

Thanks For Coming Friday's Nasca Car @ Earthdom & Sunday's Miminokoto @ Rooster North side! I enjoyed both show very much! I play guitar in Nasca Car after a long time! Very Excited!

Between these gigs, although I was very busy, since there was slight time, I put this record on my turntable and listened.

This was recorded and released from private label of San Francisco in 1969. Pure folk blues with strong picking of acoustic guitar and bitter moods of tone of voice. The photograh of this Jacket is my kind! Deep sepia of the shade is very wonderful.

In the bright morning light, I drinking coffee and try to calm my poor heart down.

I think This record is Best works of his carrer. (Off Course HMS is my favorite, Too!) This was some kind of Roots for 70's British folk I think.

When this record is ended, off course I would like to listen Heron's 1st album.

Antonietta Laterza/Alle Sorelle Ritrovate
(Cramps-Strange Days/POCE-1181/CD)

Antonietta Laterza/Alle Sorelle Ritrovate

This record released in 70's from CRAMPS Label.
Japanese Label called 'Strange Days Record' re-issued some Beaytiful catalog of Cramps label last year.

I have some titles of this Italy label, Derek Bailey, Cornelius Cardew blah blah...
This Record is long-time-wanted item for me, so I bought this CD.

Some kind of document recordings in Feminist meeting.
I cannot understand her lyrics, But Her song and guitar are full of appeal power, and have been drawn involuntarily.

My only weapon is my

Sly & The Family Stone/There's A Riot Goin' On
(EPIC/SONY/ESCA 5219/CD)

Sly & The Family Stone/There's A Riot Goin' On

One morning I browsed Internet, There was unbelievable news came into my eyes. Sly & The Family Stone's GIG would be take place in JAPAN this autumn...Oh man!!!

I could not get the ticket, so I put there cds after a long time.
In my student era, My Favorite Sly's stuff is 'FRESH'. but now, 'There's a riot goin' on' is completely blowing my mind.

There is full of Depth of densityand,Feeling of a blockade in An unusual feeling of tension. and I can feel 'Silence'-It will be omitted intentionally in 'FRESH' all around in this album.

Contrast of Very Cheerful Tour photos in booklet and The Star-Spangled Banner which spread seems to be very uncanny to me.

When I ask 'What is your favorite song in this album?' , No doubt, I always answer the song 'Poet'.

Mellow My Mind

Niel Young/Tonight's The Night
(Reprise/MS2221/LP)

Niel Young/Tonight's The Night

I Have no opinion the way most people do. Everybody Knows and Understand what they should and would be. Maybe It didn't mean nothing to me and off course Things is always the same to me in future, either. In The Darkest night, even Somewhat as we called, Feelings of Sorrow, Illusion and Anxiety is desperately in need of someting Bright 'that is likely to be saved'.

I walked alone and drifted in uncrowded Shibuya Street at night. It remainds me of this record.

I Should Have Known

Soft Machine/Middle Earth Masters
(Cuneiform Records/Rune 235/CD)

Soft Machine/Middle Earth Masters

When I was walking around my house with playing iPod, Suddenly iPod plays Soft machine's 'I Sholud Have Known'. It makes me running back to my room and putting this CD on my player and listen. Because I listened them after a long time..

I used to listen to many of early soft machine's bootlegs. like 'Turns On Vol.01&02','Middle Earth'. This CD is definitive edition of the times I think.

We can listen to the document of early soft machine's Psychederic session! Mike Ratledge's Fuzz organ rule their atomosphere and Robert Wyatt's Rolling drum and Kevin Ayers' Strong Bass is very amazing. Especially 'I should have known-track8 ver.' is best track for me.

What Color Is Love

Terry Callier/What Color Is Love
(Reprise/6407/LP)

Terry Callier/What Color Is Love

One day My friend write about Terry carrier on his blog.
I look for my record Shelf and pick this record and listen.
I bought this record about 10 years ago or so, and listen 2 or 3 times then leave it on my shelf for a long time.
But Time changes this record' value for me.Very excellent record!
Especially A-side's beautiful Song flow with sweet and progressive strings arrangement. His voice is very dark and honest feeling inside.

It moves my empty head so high and I was thinking about a certain special feelings that this record gave to me.

Angel Of Mercy

Tommy Flanders/The Monnstone
(Lilith.LTD/LR-106/LP)

Tommy Flanders/The Monnstone

This is the solo album of early BLUES PROJECT's Vocalist from Verve Forecast 1969. I have been looking for this record for a long time, Finally I cannot wait for the time when I found original copy..I Bought re-issue one from Russia.

Tommy's sensitive singing leads 11 Dreamy Pieces for The moonstone. they supported by delicate but very strong guitar of Bruce langhorn (He's one of my favorite guitarist). Very cool record.

Mornin' I'll Be Movin' On

Paul Williams/Someday Man
(Reprise/WPCR-1958/CD)

Paul Williams/Someday Man

Paul's Debut Album with His fatal partner Roger Nichols. Off Course He is very famous for his beautiful songwriting, But I Like his tone of voice very much. Especially 'Someday Man' and 'Mornin' I'll Be Movin' On' ! They moves me very deeply and I sometime sing them By chance..

Bass Line's Mysterious floatage feeling leads to Lights and Shadows of Younger Days. I am not good listener of Roger Nichols (In Japan He is very popular than any other country) and I haven't listened his new album putting out last year. But This record remainds me the feeling mixed with hope, hesitation and desire. Everytime I listened to this record, I think about Margo Guryan's beautiful record 'Take A Picture'.

When Harpo Played His Harp

Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers/Modern Lovers 88
(Demon/FIEND-106/LP)

Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers/Modern Lovers 88

It was released in 1988, from 20 years from now.
This is the last album that Jonathan took the name of 'Modern Lovers'.
This Record filled with Nice and slaezy rock and roll with small acoustic combo.
I think 'Modern Lovers 88' is dedication for the rock and roll classics 'rocket 88'??
He sings very strange lyrics as he always do.
But I like his music very much and Especially 'Harpo played his harp' is my one of favorite tune.

Canto de Ossanha

Baden E Vinicius/Os Afro Sambas
(Forma/FM-16/LP)

Baden E Vinicius/Os Afro Sambas

This Legendary record released in 1966.
Baden and Vinicius wrote songs of this album together with drinking tons of whisky..
Baden Powell is one of my favorite guitarist. also his singing is very beautiful too.

I like to listen to his record in the morning with drinking strong Black coffee. My Vynil is re-issue and very bad condition..but I Cleaning it with water, gradually plays well and well.

I especially like the 1st song of Side A 'Canto de Ossanha'.
They were accompnied by 'Quarteto Em Cy'.

Jajouka Black Eyes

The Master Musicians Of Jajouka/S.T.
(GENES/GCD 3000/CD)

The Master Musicians Of Jajouka/S.T.

Everytime I organized my gig event called 'plunk's plan',I keep playing my iPod[song shuffle mode] as BGM for the night. Sometime An unexpected tune flowed suddenly and it makes great time for drinking. and sometime my iPod plays Unknown song for me..ha ha..
One night, my iPOD plays Ornette Coleman's 'Midnight Sunrise' from the album 'Dancing In Your Head' in This album, Ornette played with The Master Musicians Of Jajouka. It makes I and Mr.TABATA talking over about this album.

Foe me,Off Course Brian Jones' works taught me to Jajouka music.
Ornette's work recorded in 1973, Brian's work is 1968 and This album recorded in 1972. If you want to know about Jajouka music, I think this CD is Definitive edition.

Their Music reminds me a little of Amon Duull for their sound of percussions with full of emotion and also reminds me some great minimal music. Very Psychedelic.
Many Beatniks like Burroughs,Boweles and Gysin spend their times there. I hope to have a chance to visit in the future..

Memphis Tennessee

Sandy Bull/Inventions
(Vanguard/VRS-9191/US/LP)

Sandy Bull/Inventions

Oneday After the GIG in Koenji, I Stayed at my friends room to spend the night.
I and My Frinends are drinking coffee and talking over listening to many American Folk Music record. for example, Robbie Basho's records (Takoma era) and Sandy Bull's records.

When I Get Home, I listen to this record.
This record is joined by billy higgins who is the Drummer of Ornette Coleman's Something Else and Jackie Mclean's some leader albums.
Sandy Bull's slow and strange atomosphere is very special to me. Especially The Last track of this record ,Chuck Berry's 'Memphis Tennessee' ,is awesome!
incredibly strange feeling with Too much reverb like falling summer rain.
my crooked view does not need to clear..

Kuchibiru To Shitto

Isle Garnier, Pierre Garnier, Seiichi Niikuni-Phonetic Poetry On Spatialism
(Cha-bashira/CHAB001/CD)

Phonetic Poetry On Spatialism

Nowadays,My CD player could not work well and I hardly buy only Vynil,Not CD.So I rarely listen to CD in my room. After a long Abcense,I turned on the Switch of the player and play. because I would like to listen this CD.

This CD put out in 1999. Wild Phonetic and phonic poetry of the 1960's. Very Similar to Fluxus' tape music in 60's. Very Imaginative CD.

I Bought this CD at Avan-Garde Floor of Tower records shibuya 5F in 1999.
Long Time I have never listen to this album but I Want to listen to The Song? called 'Kuchibiru To Shitto (means 'Lips And Jealousy)' very much. That is my all time Favorite and After I Listen to this CD, I remembered my old feelings and these are upper sliding on these own shadows.

Travelon Gamelon

Richard Lerman/Music Of Richard Lerman
(em Records/EM1063DCD/2CD)

Richard Lerman/Music Of Richard Lerman

1st CD Reissue of 1983's Richard Lerman's Recordings from Folkways! I Think It is the Document of full of dry experiment mind!
I like Travelon Gamelon very much I think begining of this is Very pastoral but gradually sounds contains very wild and despareate power inside. but I choose Disk 2.
Sometimes I like to play An atonality guitar with listening this CD in my room.

Is It Possible for us to collect complete catalogue of Folkways???
